Doug has been working in the New Zealand Transportation and civil construction sector for the last 20 years. His experience ranges from technical roles through to leadership over this period.

His career in New Zealand began with working in civil engineering laboratories. He then worked in various fields including; asset management, construction, contract management and business development. He has spent many years in the network management sector and is familiar with the challenges that we face in this industry.

He joined Downer a little over eight years ago, during this time he has led two alliances with the Local Government, then as Regional Manager for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty and more recently he was the General Manager for the Central Region.

Doug’s outlook is that there is always a better way of doing things and he is keen to use the strong thought leadership that Road Science possesses to enhance outcomes for our industry in New Zealand and overseas.
